Latin Greece

Post by expendablecinc »

Have almosrt finished by Romanian Franks... ahem! I mean Latin Greeks and will post once I know how they fare. The idea is to load up on terrain (hilly/mountainous) and try and channel the superior knights with general escorts into contact with just about everything. Against camels and elephants there are box and LF to see them off.

The IC is there to ensure the Knights have a good chance of getting into contact with Bow intact.

I am giong to try these chaps with Seljuk and Cuman allies too at some point

Anthony

It will be interesting to see how they play. So the knights planning to advance with the three missile and one LSp MF BGs on their flank in a support/pinning role? I'm getting familiar with Knight + Spear armies but don't have a clear idea how this would work.

Fielding the Knights and Lights with a steppe-type ally sounds fun too.

BTW, in the list, the LH should be listed as Bow Swordsmen, and the final LF contingent have Javelins Lt Spear.

The army can have 8 or so spear so they are next up on the painting block. My concern is that undrilled defensive spear may get left behind. the knights will have to steam off into death or glory or wait for bad matchups so will need to get in quick I think.

I am still not sure of the terrain effects with FoG and am hoping that theres plenty of opportunity to get some terrain down. In the current guise its fairly terrain dependant as the knights cant be everywhere.

With 4 Knight BGs you could divide them up and pose some problems for opponents with only one anti-Knight group available.

In terms of terrain, an ideal set-up might let you assault on one side of the table with Knights with the infantry enjoying a large area of uneven or rough terrain towards the middle that you can anchor on and sweep round.
