Give Khazoth and Sirucil a few more provinces

Post by Dunadd »

If Khazoth added Mar Ashet, Koraz and Drysledge to its starting provinces, and Sirucil got Devils Garden, Roseweth and Morgenhall they would both pose more of a challenge to fight against as AI players. Khazoth would also be more likely to be strong enough to be aggressive the way it's meant to be (so long as those provinces were max level). Equally that'd make them more fun to play as.

In almost any game I have played Sirucil only survives because the AI doesnt attack capitals and Khazoth gets steamrolled by its 3 neighbours (again except capital)...
Both the nation's units are not really strong and requires quite some tactical thinking to succeed as player.
Giving each more provinces might seem nice, but the army is still not good... Especcially compared to Hadrigel.

Yeah you could well be right on sirucil - i've never played as Sirucil, only Aevinwode , Sonneneve and Dragonhold - though as Aevinwode i could win most battles with a combination of massed elven archers, a handful of infantry in shield wall, and a couple of Icespire huntsmen auxiliaries plus some Sirucil's raiders. Wasn't always easy though - and Aevinwode only has to fight Reisenthal at the start and has three provinces - i'd think with one province and against Hadrigel and the Boruvians to fight from the start it'd be almost impossible.

The provinces i'm talking about giving to Sirucil and Khazoth would be ones that Hadrigel and the Boruvians have at the start at the moment, so that'd help a bit at least. Maybe Sirucil needs stronger units, but Khazoth has plenty of strong ones.

Just for info... Mar Ashet and Koraz already belong to Khazoth from the beginning.
As for Drysledge... it is easy to take in the beginning... It might however cause minor issues being at constant war with Cragenwaste. In my experience Cragenwaste, Hadrigel, Boruvian Empire and Brogen Hur will or were at war with Khazoth before turn 20...
It is a good thing that the diplomacy is so bad that you just pass them 100 coin for peace and they wont bother you for a while...

These 2 nations do not need additional provinces... They need a little less war loving neighbours. You cannot even blink without one of the 4 declaring war...

You're right - Hadrigel and Cragenwaste must've taken over those provinces in my game

The game as it is right now, heavily favors large blocks of infantry, with a couple trebuchets to back them up. For 2.0, we're doing some rebalancing to encourage more variance of tactics among the various combined arms that Sovereignty has to offer.

In addition, we feel that both Khazoth and the 3 elven realms needed some qualitative improvements. They might not enjoy the numbers of the massed armies of their neighbors, but they should be able to hold their own locally.
