=> 2 skirmisher groups together and evading

Post by Brainsnaffler »

It's me again!

Following my game last night, I was thinking about the situation some of my LH found themselves in. I had two battle groups of Numidian Light Horse together (4 bases each in two ranks of two). This gives a four base frontage. Now, theoretically, suppose I was 2MU away from an enemy BG with them both and that BG was 4 bases wide. With me so far?

If the enemy was to charge, then they can only declare on one BG, which would naturally evade. The point I am coming to, is that if the first group of numidians evades, would the second BG just sit there and get hit by 2 of the 4 enemy bases as it charged forward or would it also evade?

p51 - the other LH is in the path of charge as well so counts as "charged" and can evade.

Of interest might be an incident we had when playing rules author RBS at Burton this year. Two BG's evaded from a charge. One rolled short on the VMD and was caught in the rear. The other appeared to get away. However, when the charging BG hit the slow moving BG, the bases stepping forward caught the second evader as well.
