Warmington-On-Sea (Sealion)
Just wondered if Warmington-On-Sea came up in the scenarios for Sealion, as it was a key defensive location. I was hoping that an elite English unit would feature in defending it too?
Favourite Games Before Panzer Corps: Pacific General, People's General, Panzer General II... pure magic!
Re: Warmington-On-Sea (Sealion)
I'll let Captain Mainwaring of the Walmington-on-sea Home Guard answer your question about an "elite" English unit being present there..........
"You stupid boy!".....
(Sorry, not being rude, just joking about the 1970's Tv series "Dad's Army" connection with the fictional location of Walmington-on-sea. This was one of the show's catch-phrases along with Corp Jones penchant for fixing his bayonet and exclaiming "They don't like it up 'em"!

It isn't in the scenario list. It may be a location on one of the maps however.PanzerTax wrote:Just wondered if Warmington-On-Sea came up in the scenarios for Sealion, as it was a key defensive location. I was hoping that an elite English unit would feature in defending it too?

At the risk of creating spoilers
Warning SPOILERS below!
Walmington-on-sea was the fictional setting for Dad's Army.
As to elite status - Corporal Jones had fought in the Omdurman campaigns before taking part on Kaiiserschlacht 3.1, so that's a lot of experience (5*?), and Godfrey was some form of war hero as well. They captured the crew from a German submarine once, so they must have been good.....

We're up to 3.2 now. My signature even says that.captainjack wrote: As to elite status - Corporal Jones had fought in the Omdurman campaigns before taking part on Kaiserschlacht 3.1, so that's a lot of experience (5*?), and Godfrey was some form of war hero as well. Aw, come on - I gave you a credit (if a bit indirectly).BiteNibbleChomp wrote:We're up to 3.2 now. My signature even says that.
In my defence, Dad's Army is an old series, so you can't expect Corporal Jones to be fighting in the latest version!
