So....with the help of some 50mm HE from my Puma, I've fought my way through the first two missions of the German Rogue campaign.
First --
My computer locked up after completing each mission. Green screen with a white bar in the middle. Is that a bug or my machine? Because the game otherwise runs fine.
Second --
What would really help would be a pdf posted here on the forum that shows an example assault. How the % odds of success are figured. Because I got no clue.
Or maybe a pdf walkthrough of combat conducted during a Skirmish battle. All the way through the engagement. Streaming games is great and all the thing, right? But having something I can read and say "Oh, that's why the hell that happened" is way more valuable in my opinion when it comes to understanding the mechanics.

Re: Request after playing first two Rogue missions
I recommend downloading the rulebook from Devil Pig Games. It does a real good job of explaining an assault and explaining the mechanics. I'm not sure how the percentage is calculated. My guess is it just kinda figures the optimal roll you need to beat the optimal defense roll of the opponent.
For those that don't know. Assault is based on the assault ability that a unit may have. If they have it at just the base level, then the assaulter will roll 2d6 and keep the highest roll. The defender will roll 1d6 if they have don't have the assault ability and will roll 2d6 if they have the ability. Some units get a bonus to assault, if they have assault ability with a +1 or +2 they add that number to their highest die roll . But for basic types, the best die roll is added to the combat score vs infantry or vehicles, and defender gets terrain defense bonus. So if I assault with a fire team against a support team in bocage, I roll 2d6, keep the highest die roll and add my +2 for infantry combat which means I could roll as high as 8 on attack. The defender gets a 1d6 roll, (two as well if they have an assault ability and keep the highest die), +2 for infantry attack score and +2 for defense of the bocage. I don't recall the exact infantry attack strengths for those units, just example numbers. So the defender could feasibly roll really well.
Assaults right now can be very hard against units in defense positions. Once they add cards, there are some cards that augment the assault attack which will help. Also, suppress the opponent before the assault to give them a penalty. Also, try to only assault units that don't have an assault trait so they don't get the extra die roll.
I'm sorry if that is not information that helps you, but I hope it does explain the assault a little better.

Thank you! Helps a lot.
I've got the board game and some expansions ID'd for Christmas, and I'm trying to hawk a metric ton of x-wing minis so I don't have to wait that long. Excited to see this get fleshed out on PC/iPad.

BUG on 1.06 on rogue missions ending
That is happening to me since 1.06 too... you can close the game and go back to the campaign to continue, but at the end of every mission I find the same problem, green screen (with tent and sanbags background) and the white bar.Lordholmes2015 wrote:First --
