Attachement Archers
I know that LF attachement archers mixed in 3rd rank with HF give the BG an extra dice roll on Impact Phase only against calvary but can they shoot on Shooting Phase and Melee Phase as well ?

I may have missed it but I couldn't see anything in the rules to prevent you setting up the BG so that in fact the suppoting archers were in the front rank and thus able to shoot if you wanted. I assume also that as lights, they can interpenetrate their own BG and then mve to the back.
Granted not a likely scenarios but never the less possible ?

You can set it up with Lights in front, but changing that is harder.stenic wrote:I may have missed it but I couldn't see anything in the rules to prevent you setting up the BG so that in fact the suppoting archers were in the front rank and thus able to shoot if you wanted. You can't arbitrarily move bases around in a formation, but there are ways of moving bases around within a BG once deployed - as a result of legal formation changes such as contracting, expanding, or 90 degree turns; reforming in the Manoeuvre Phase of a BG that is not in a normal formation; rallying routers; feeding bases into melee; and rear ranks filling in casualty gaps in the front rank. You need to study the restrictions applicable to each of these. Odd formations are likely to be considered cheesy, but if you have time for your BGs to perform the necessary evolutions I personally don't see why not - it can get unpleasant if caught by an untimely charge or in a restricted area.
