Percentage loss calculation

I'm wondering how the percentage lost so far is calculated.

In my recent battle against Batesmotel my Swiss had lost 2 large pike, a small pike, a halberd unit, 4 light foot arquebus, a light foot crossbow and a mounted arquebus unit. All I had left was 2 large pike blocks (they had lost almost 1,000 casualties between them but I'm guessing the losses are only counted on complete units) but they kept fighting as I'd only lost 55% of my army. I did a rough calculation that it should have been at least 66%.
My army finally broke when another pike broke, giving me a total of 66% lost. If my last pike broke that would presumably make it up to 77% lost. Does anyone have any idea where remaining 23% of my army could be. It was all on the table at the start of the battle and all fought till routed, no wimpy evading off the table with these guys

Well pike blocks are worth far more than other units. It does seem odd - perhaps one of the routed pike blocks had rallied to Fragmented.

It wasn't the horsemen, I only ever had 1 small unit of 198 mounted arquebus.

Last thing I do each move is click the "next unmoved" button. The broken pike were pursued till they routed off the table or dispersed. Batesmotel had plenty of spare skirmishers to do this, and there was no way he was letting any of them back into the game.
