Two Questions

Post by SSLConf_Yolo911 »

I have been playing this since it's release at the end of April. I have read the manual and all of the posts. Two things I can't figure out:

#1 The MEDIC specialization. I am doing a multiplayer scenario, Iwo Jima, as the Americans. I have the MEDIC specialization. I cannot find a medic unit listed in any unit category. Can someone point out which unit is the medic? And how it works?

#2 Still referring to the Iwo Jima scenario, When moving an infantry unit and you go to the extreme limit, the ghost image of a truck appears. If you elect to move the unit that far it changes into a truck. But sometimes it changes into some kind of light blue amphibious vehicle. When a unit changes into a truck, the next turn it is back as a walking unit. But when it changes into the light blue amphibious vehicle it does not change back into a unit on foot. And now it is vulnerable to AT fire, which in Iwo Jima there are about a thousand Jap AT units scattered everywhere. How do I manually switch it back into a unit on foot?

2) Some Marine units are equipped with amtracks. When the unit is on a coastal hexes it can switch to amphibious mode (embarking the amtrack). It can move along shallow water hexes and also cross rivers without movement penalties. See screenshot.

I thought there should be a button to switch the marines back to 'foot mode'. I just ran a quick hot-seat test of Iwo Jima to grab a debark screenshot, but my amtrack'ed marines auto-debarked the next turn, just like trucks... Didn't matter wether they were attacked in the previous turn or not.

I've tried to lure the marines out of their vehicles with wine, women and song. But they refuse to walk. I hope this will be looked at and fixed. Do I need to report it somewhere else or is this good enough?

In a campaign game medic specialization awards you additional resource points if your units are damaged but since you mentioned you are playing multiplayer I must say I didn't even know there could be specializations in such scenarios so not sure is this the same case as in campaign.
