Concern about buying CEAW

Having read the various posts about ordering problems with CEAW, and having downloaded the Demo and not received any reply to a request for an unlocking key (to play a demo!??? What's the point of that???) I am concerned that I am going to encounter similar problems.
Has support for this product improved since the original complaints?
Have credit card problems been resolved?
I have limited download bandwidth... if I do decide to buy the game, do I have to redownload or will an activation code enable the game that I have (CEAW 1.06)?
I see that much of the game is in Java and many of the graphics are in png format. How close is a Linux version of CEAW? Should I wait?

You do not need a key to play the demo!

If you do not have a key, when you run the game it will put you in demo mode, just click No or Cancel when it asks if you want to enter your key at the first pop up.

If you purchase the game you will receive a key (which should get automatically injected without you having to do anything) which will unlock the game and run you in full game mode. There is nothing extra to download.

There is no linux version planned.
