New Caledonia (Japan)
Finally got there. My units are in good shape.
If you have any hints, they are appreciated.
I especially wonder if there will be a naval attack from the North, right now it seems as if all US ships are too far away in the South, with no chance to engage my ships up North. I am not sure if there is much point in anything besides maybe a BB and a carrier for this scenario given that it seems mostly land based.

Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
You need at least a destroyer or 2 as there is a sub that appears part way through the scenario.
Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
Good to know, thanks for the warning.
Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
I am making progress, enemy armor has shown up. Destroyed them already, but it's mostly due to massive artillery barrage and slowly destroying them. Dive bombers and my own tanks aren't very effective!

Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
This is the map I have long march done from right side and cut the airfield from the city. With all the tanks trap and focus only on supply capture. Once that big army ran out of supply just bulldoze it with tanks
Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
Now that's an idea!

Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
Just make sure you are using marine for the right side long march as other unit will have red efficiently due to terrain and there is some pocket of troops that need to be clean out on the way, 3 marine will do the job nicely
Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
Probably not doing it this way this time, should have done so right from the start.
My current plan is to sink the enemy BB and then switch my 3x 150mm Artillery to Pak after eliminating/suppressing enemy Infantry and then go for the tanks. Not so elegant, let's see how it will work out. Didn't play in the last days, probably a little scared already.

Re: New Caledonia (Japan)
Making good progress, 3-4 150m Artillery help a lot. The main obstacle is the disfunctional road mechanic, as it makes the road route quite longish.
The bombers sent my way failed, as I didn't destroy the radar in time.
But I think I won't need them at all.

I wish I had read that 3 days ago before I sent 3 mech units down right side to sit behind mountains doing nothing - will do better next timesimcc wrote:Just make sure you are using marine for the right side long march as other unit will have red efficiently due to terrain and there is some pocket of troops that need to be clean out on the way, 3 marine will do the job nicely
