Hi all,

I am new to this game, having bought it (along with all of the DLC, Allied and Afrika Corps) earlier in the week. Unfortunately ill health (typical that it crops up just after getting this) has pretty much prevented me from playing and focusing on a game. So I am about to start my first run, with the original campaign and straight in at the deep end on FM level, which should be fun. I have played the PG series to death and far beyond that to resurrection again and am looking forward to playing this game and hoping that I have not bitten off more than I can chew on my first run. Guess I will find out.

Welcome to the game dragonwarrior. Hope you enjoy it. I, for one, am a huge fan & have spent countless hours playing it, along with quite a bit of time on this forum. There's a lot of good tips here - you may have to do a bit of sifting & reading to get to them though.

Since you played Panzer General "back in the day" you should be able to pick things up quite quickly. Be warned, however, that there are a few tweaks & changes that will affect play. In my opinion, these changes are for the better & the game is fantastic remake.

If I had one tip to pass along, it would be to focus on & conserve your prestige during the game. It will come easy during the early years - but as you get into Russia replacements & units will be more expensive & prestige will be harder to get. You will need to be disciplined with it in the beginning.

Thank you for the welcome. I an enjoying the game, I am taking my time with playing it only playing for short bursts at a time.

I've only played till the end of Norway so far, tried for the Decisive Victory there but the Royal Navy prevented that and I had to spend prestige saving Artillery and Pioniere in the far north, lost one of the Gebirgsjäger but following a Marginal Victory (missed the DV by one turn) High Command decided to replace it with an SE Gebirgsjäger

I'm looking forward to the lowlands next.

Welcome - have played PG and its successors endlessly - actually both PG and PC game me serious shoulderaches because I played it for too long a time... Now using Wacom Tablet instead of mouse . Have found many tips and hints here, many of which I did not even have time to discover. Have fun.
