game freeze

Twice now I have had the game freeze on me, once when trying to carry on from the end of plan orange to Battaan and next in the coral sea. I restarted the game on plan orange, I read the post after starting the game to get the version number.
So here I go:

Intel core2 quad Cpu Q6600 2.40 Ghz
4.0 Gb ram
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT
