Minor Nations Available?

Post by kongxinga »

What are the minor nations, on both Allied and Japanese side, that are available for play, if any?

in the few videos I watched I have only seen US or Japanese troops. Would any of the other Allies (Britain, Holland, Nationalist China) or the minor Axis (Manchukuo, Mongolian Units, Siam) make an appearance at all? I know there is a what if Australia campaign (which means ANZAC forces are probably in) but how about any of the others?

I greatly enjoyed fighting against and with minor nations in Panzer General and Pacific General, so I hope there is a possibility to recreate parts of the CBI theatre (Jungle warefare over vast areas) rather than just island hopping and naval battles, (although that is neat in its own way).

British, Australian and Dutch have a modest unit list of their own, including very unique units such as Matilda Frogs & Hedgehogs and Dutch Overvalswagen armoured cars.

Chinese and other east-asian nations are not part of the game at the moment as it focuses on the central/southern part of the pacific game. But these will most likely get the proper attention they deserve in an expansion or DLC campaign.

Even the Germans are already part of the game, albeit in a very minor way :)

Thank you for the quick reply. Chinese, British Indian, and other East Asian (and Even Communist forces like Soviet Union and Chinese Communists) all sound great in DLCs. If these make it into the game it is a day one purchase for me, and as of right now I am already seriously considering a purchase to hasten that.

Germans? Is that the prototype Japanese Jet made with german engines? Ki-61 made with Bf109 engines? Some kind of submarine that got lost, or that one that was sunk that carried secret technologies? Left over equipment from German mission to China?

Japanese get access to some German U-boats if you choose the "Wolfpack" specialisation in their campaign. Inspired by the Gruppe Monsun. They also get access to Tiger tanks and nebelwerfers if you choose the "Wunderwaffe" specialisation, taking place during the "what-if" invasion of Australia. Inspired by the Japanese interest in German weapon designs, which might have found their place in Japanese hands had the war taken a course in favor of both Axis powers.

All these units are also available for the German nation in the scenario editor, altho that doesn't really give them enough for full custom campaigns yet ;-)

will Germany get more units later as DLC for making our own custom campaigns or shall we just wait for mods to make this awesome game even better?
I still would like to know why there is no "live" multiplayer for this great game.

Gradually introducing new nations, campaigns and specialisations is certainly part of the plan :)

Again, what's with the two-word casual comment in an eight-year-old thread? adherbal is long gone and his vow of "gradually introducing new nations, campaigns and specialisations" has long since run its course. Your dragging this thread out of mothballs can only serve to create unrealistic expectations from a casual glance at its contents. Care to explain yourself?

Ah yes I see, didn't think about that while typing. I was looking back into the history of the game that once was v1.0.0. and old memories came up and I responded to that feeling. But pretty annoying if old posts spam the top of the discussion, that was not my master plan. Forgive me my silly actions.
