Alice in Pike Land

Post by macdonncadh »

I am trying to do a map, nothing too strenuous or ambitious...just the immediate vicinity of the crossing from England to Scotland at Coldstream. I get a little terrain put down and my sleepy border hamlet is afflicted by walls that sink, roof-less city blocks that become a pile of girders and a shrub that may be a shrub on the Klingon Homeworld, but resembles nothing I've seen in Scotland.

Now, the pertinent information: Map is 32x32. I have gone from auto-edging on to off. And I have a virus checker running (AVAST)

Do you see any culpability on my part.

(BTW: I hate starting life on a message board with a gripe. I have really enjoyed playing this game more than any that has come by in many an age. Thank you.)

If any of the models look like a grey cube, that means that that model was (unfortunately) never completed, so obviously you need to avoid using them.

The city walls are not designed to go on slopes and will sink if you try to use them on hill slopes. There are sloping version of the light field fortifications, but not of city walls.

Not sure what you mean by girders. (At least you can use them to make yourself some Irn-Bru)

I did finally clear the wreckage and figured out what you mean about the high walls and slopes. I still have no idea what the one object was (except compared to the high walls it was about 300 feet tall!), but it was odd. The girders I was able to patiently remove by clicking and delete one at a time. (I am still learning this editor having had the game just about a week).

Any chance of the grey cubes becoming farmhouses, ruins and dense shrubs by the next update?

Unlikely, I fear.

Strange, it sounds like an object from Battle Academy, Arnhem Bridge, but that object isn't in the Pike and Shot build.

If it happens again, could you please post a screenshot.
