Flank Marching

Post by philqw78 »

Can I roll for a flank march on both flanks if I am stupid enough to have just 2 generals and want the enemy to think I have more, and more troops, and then say they are HF flank marching without FC so lose one from the dice, or is this too confusing

You can roll for a flank march on both sides if you've got a flank march on both side.........not sure I understood the rest, so too complicated for me for sure.

Basically he is asking if he can "fake out" his opponent by rolling "as if" he had more troops/commanders than he actually has. The same brainstorm that wants to put out fake ambush markers - in effect, do false rolls until it is obvious that if he actually HAD any flank marchers they would be arriving - then stating "Sorry, was faking you out!". The bit about HF and a TC for the minus one on the roll was to enable him to make a successful roll an unsuccessful one if it was close enuf.

Psyops - mess with their minds .....

Oh I see in that case

NO

The ambush markers are deliberately there to allow some FOG of war but to do so with flank marches would go too far. Otherwise we could all roll for 2 flank marches whether we have one or not, which would waste a lot of time and lead to a slowing down of games, therefore a poor idea from a game design point of view.
