Light Spear and Spearmen

I assume Light Spear for impact (and swordsman as melee) does not a Spearman make for getting the Spearman not charging POA in Impact ?

That is true, you only get the light spear POA in the impact phase and nothing in the melee phase. If you are mounted with a light spear you only get the bonus if there are no other net POAs.

The +1 POA for spear and pike if not charging I have always taken to mean Def Sp and Off Sp, as on p130, it is only those two types listed as Spearmen.
