How to use LH with bow ?
In my Sassanid list I have 2 BG's of 6 and one BG of 4 LH , all armed with bow.
I don't think I got full use of them , can anyone give me ideas on what to do with them ?
Who should they be shooting at ?
Who should they charge ?
thanks

They have several values - they can be used to hold up much larger points values of solid foot troops who have no prospects of ever catching them. If the solid foot troops are only protected and not in big units you may even be able to disrupt them or take bases off them with shooting, though this should be considered a bonus.
They should only really consider charging LF. They won't beat much else, especially if they are not also swordsmen!

They were used to great effect last night in our Neo-Assyrian vs Free Companies @1000AP
2 BGs of Scythian LH ally flanked round the Free Companies to their rear edge, who then presented a BG of crack knights to ride the LH off. The LH shot the knights scoring 3 hits, the knights failed the CT and the death roll. In the LH go they passed a CMT to retreat <3" about face and shot again, scoring 3 more hits, the knights promptly failed the CT again despite a quality re-roll but didn't lose a base this time. The knights could no longer charge, being frag'd, and so just stayed put (they were undrilled so no choice really), and got shot again for 1 hit. With 3 bases left it caused a CT which they failed again and promptly left the table. Oh how we laughed !!
Granted the hits were lucky, but what knackered the knights was the edge of the world -1 on a CT test for having a threatened flank !! The opponent had not clicked this and the -1 turned out to be critical.
With the flank clear they were able to hit the rear of another BG of knights that were taking on the chariots.
So the lesson was try and have them in 6s or 2 BGs of 4 each. You need the dice to give you a chance of decent hits. Exploit the edge of the world by flanking the enemy, particularly if they have no missle counter to cause you to take a CT. Err... standard LH tactics really
