Texture override?

Post by Sabratha »

Dealing with Armylist text. Is it possible to set a particular armylist to use alternative textures? (for example those from Data\Battle\UnitTextures\Camouflage?)

How does one do it in BA2? In P&S all it takes is a SKIN XYZ note in the Armylist like so:

[17ETYW_BOHEMIAN]
SIDE ALLIES
SIDEID 19
NAME IDS_ARMY_17ETYW_BOHEMIAN
YEARS 18 19
SKIN TYW_Bohemian

I tried this in BA2 as "SKIN Camouflage", but doesn't seem to work this way in BA2

The P&S scripting probably uses that information to perform its own texture set operations. BA2 doesn't do that unfortunately.

It would require a custom skirmish script. BA2 isn't currently set up for that, but I will see whether I can allow it in the next update.

Cheers

Would be quite usefull, especially for theatre-specific armylists for skirmish.

For example if I'd want to make a separate armylist for Afrika Korps now, I'd need to make separate units for all euipment in sand camo, which in turn means separate s4f files taking space and increasing loading times. It might be bvetter if I could just edit the armylist file and have that particular DARK armylist just use texture ovverides from the "Desert" folder.
