Hi,

Not knowing where you live I can't suggest a club but you could look at and / or post in the tournaments and opponent finder forum.

The Field of Glory Gallery sticky has links to several very nice armies and there are posts in this forum with other pictures.

Army design should be covered in the lists forum.

Alternatively just post here with where you are based, what sub periods interest you and your prefered idea of figure scale.

For maximun figure availability you might consider starting with a Roman army. Not to mention they fought everyone.
