I received CTGW as a gift over the web and never got a serial number. Was playing just fine then all of a sudden message appears CTGW has stopped working. Can't download patchs without Serial. Received gift from PIMPMEISTER_99. If the issue isn't resolved ASAP Say so long to me. I told my friend thanks for the gift and explained to him that I had a account with Slitherine years ago and wasn't very pleased with the tech support process provided. This is a test if you've improved. I want this issue solved quickly. You know what problems you have. I'm sorry you are having problems with your game. We can try helping via the forum, but as the log files and such are useful to help diagnose an error, then it may be best to contact us at support[a]slitherine.com, as it will be easier to attach files. The Steam game is always updated with the latest official patches, so you do not need to download or install these separately. Unfortunately we do not have a telephone number, but we should be able to help via email anyway. I've listed one step below you could try prior to sending the logs, then below that is how to generate the logs:

First, please open the folder where you've installed the game. Locate and select a file named "autorun.exe". Press the right mouse button and select "Properties". Click on the "Compatibility" tab. Tick the option "Run this program as an administrator". Click on "Apply" and "Ok". Double click on "autorun.exe" for running the program and check if the issue persists.

If the game does crash again, please can you attach the logs from the game and a DxDiag report. The logs are in your Documents, so the default is "My Documents\My Games\Commander The Great War", but we do need the log from directly after a crash, as if the game is reopened then the log is overwritten.

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message

Fix your problem if I can't attach a .txt or .xml file just how can I attach a document. I have a few choice words I'd like to use but I'll try to be nice for now but my frustration is growing.

I'm sorry but the only explanation we can have, is that the issue you have/are experiencing it's related with your system... Maybe a Windows update, an anti-virus interference, a third party program, etc. Windows is a dynamic system.

By the way, I strongly suggest that you edit your original post and removed your telephone number, this is after all a public forum.

I will but when I did that with BA I had to pay for map packs again luckily there aren't any extensions on here

Down loaded latest version of iOS for iPad working ok now lost previous games but it's a small price for a much needed update
