Commander Basing

In SoA, HYW English (Cont) have commanders based as Men At Arms - does his mean you have to use the basing depth for HF, or can you use a 40mm square with a little diorama instead? Can you use mounted figures, though there aren't really any in the list, since the MAA are dismounted?

Commanders are on 40x40mm bases. They are represented/modelled as MAA. Dioramas are good (as a bunch of MAA and perhaps the odd messanger on a 40x40 base).

My hoplite commanders do look a bit wierd on a 40x40 base as I haven't had a chance to create a diorama. When I do it'll be a bunch of hoplite commanders standing in a circle argueing with each other...
