Field of Glory Web Site Attacked

Post by jdm »

Just to let you know that we had a bit of an emergency on the Field of Glory web site. It was attacked by a hacker on the 5th March. Some of you may have received a virus warning message when you tried to log on.

In essence it was harmless but would obviously have given anyone visiting the site a bit of a fright. Unfortunately both Iain and I were out of the country and got woken in the wee small hours, but the team were already on the case and the site was repaired and back up and running within hours.

How and why these pratts do this stuff remains a mystery to me, but I guess the joys of the intranet age

Best Regards
JDM

Good to see we were POA up at impact - even without JD and IRM providing a rear rank :)

Perhaps they were trying to hack the competition results for the year's supply of FoG... :)

Seriously, if it was the forums, attacks on php BBs are quite common.

Not me then, far too damn early in the day :) Seriously, unless they're very stupid, fat chance of finding out who they are. And sadly these things are fairly common.
