AI responses to Bastogne and Panzer units

Post by s_pixelgeek »

I have noticed two issues with the German AI (especially Deitrich)

1) The AI (even the Allies) is more than willing to abandon Bastogne to react to almost any threat. Is it possible to have the AI less willing to cede the city? Its a bit disheartening to have the VPs handed to you.

2) The German AI will sometimes send Panzer units rushing backwards to attack Allied units that offer, IMO, little potential threat. Last game the 1SSPz spent the game hunting Allied infantry south of Bastogne. I couldn't fathom what threat the units presented that couldn't be dealt with the German units present but I suspect that the AI didn't have the ability to reassess the use for the unit in another area of the map after it had moved that far south.

This is a big problem for the Germans since they really need their Panzer units moving towards the Meuse.

What is the best way to report issues with the AI? A bug report? Screenshot?

The best way to report any issue is from within the game. http://www.shenandoah-studio.com/Forum/ ... p?f=9&t=43

We’ve seen the abandonment of Bastogne a bit here, and are looking into it.
