Initial poursuit encounters fresh ennemy

Post by franck »

Page 108 : last bullet before the example : "initial poursuit obeys the same rules as poursuits in the joint action phase for moving multiple poursuing battre groups, following routers, avoiding friends or encountering the table hedge, terrain or fresh ennemy. See joint action phase section"

Joint action phase section :
"Page 116 : poursuers normally contact any fresh ennemy in their path. However, skirmishers can always choose to stop their poursuit 1 MU away from fresh ennemy non skirmishers, and other troops can do so if they pass a CMT....."

From this, i understand it is always possible for a non skirmishers poursuing (whatever initial or following poursuit) to choose to pass a CMT not to impact a new ennemy trop in its path. Correct ?

I know the question seems very basic, but this is not the way it is generally player - very often umpires oblige to impact the new ennemy BG in the first move conséquent of an ennemy rout.

That is certainly my understanding - yes.

Many players in the UK miss this option too.
