charge into building

Post by deadtorius »

Today a unit of French got really lucky, shot up a large unit of conscripts for 4 hits at close range, then the other 9 dice at medium range got all of 1 hit. The conscripts failed to rally, were charged next turn and fled the building. The charging unit charged into the building then stopped. Was that correct? Or would that only apply to melee and pursuit? Also we could not find it but, when you move into a building from a charge or pursuit are you only occupying or do you have the option of defending it upon entering. I know I read it somewhere but we could not find it thanks.

I think you played it right. Page 77 covers it: "Infantry moving (or pursuing) into buildings after all their close combat opponents retire are initially considered to be 'occupying' and must wait until their next Movement Phase if they wish to change their status to 'defending'".
