Slow down the AIs turn!
Please, for the love of gaming, slow down the movement and attacking of the AIs turn. As soon as I hit end turn, blammo, the enemy is moving, attacking, and I have no idea where anything is happening.
The screen does not track to the action, and it just runs at light speed. Please, please, please slow it down. I absolutely HATE the AI turn because of this. There was no problem at all in Panzer Corps during the AI turn.
Yeah, yeah, I know this isn't Panzer Corps, but still . . .

Well, if I ever get to play without ctd errors and I see the same thing, I would agree 100%. A super fast AI is not good. There needs to be a slider or something for this.

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Yeah, I feel bad for you. I don't understand why nobody from Slitherine is helping you. That is unlike them. Not even a response!
Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Things might be starting to happen in the tech support section. I don't know. Taking a wait and see attitude.
Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
I read on the steam forums that they are going to try and address this in a future patch.
Will try and find the link and post it here.
@ Fro - you sure have high expectations. Complaining about no response only 4 hours after the initial post.

JimmyC - I am not complaining about no response to my post. I was referring to no response to Rich's issue of not being able to play the game, which has been around for a while.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Why doesn't he go to options screen and change the movement speed?

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
The movement speed in the options only affects the players turn. It has no effect on the AI turn. The AI turn goes very fast and it is difficult to follow what is going on.
Lots of folks are complaining about this on Steam, too.

Haha, I thought you just have super high expectations of the admins! Now I understand the context a bit better. Hard to tell from that 1st post though.FroBodine wrote:JimmyC - I am not complaining about no response to my post. Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Hello again - is slowing down the AI turn even on your list of fixes? Adjusting the turn speed slider bar does NOTHING for the AI turn. It only affects the player's movement speed.
None of the developers have responded to my plea for this issue, so I am asking again in case they just never read this post. It is SO hard to follow the enemy AI turn as it moves incredibly fast the split second after you click the end turn button. There is not even time to get your bearings before things start moving and shooting all over the place, and I have a very hard time following the action.
Thank you for listening . . . again.

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
I second FroBodine's request. I was playing one of the scenario's in the 2nd campaign and it was really apparent that it needed to be fixed. Its the one where you have to kill Gazgull Thraka and the Orcs have the 1st turn and attack the non-core forces. The screen jumps around everywhere and you can't see whats going on. Its almost seizure inducing! And even when you can see whats going on, its not displayed properly. For example one of the support units was being attacked by a bunch of Orcs and the unit disappeared, but still returned fire from attacks until it was really destroyed that turn (obviously the graphical display was in the wrong order - showing the unit as dead before it actually died).
It may be hard to fix this, but its a massive point which really hurts the immersion and so i echo Fro's request again.

Thank you, Jimmy! There, that's at least two of us who hate the current AI turn. Please hear our plea!

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
I also second FroBodine's request. I have that issue with almost every scenario I play regardless of the movement speed settings I choose.
BTW: The game is saving all chosen settings without problems except the movement speed which has to be adjusted each time the game is started anew. I don't kow if this bug has been reported before or if I'm the only one experiencing this.

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Yeah I agree. This is a fairly big issue for me. I always spend the first part of my turn having to figure out exactly what the AI has been up too. I really should be able to watch it at a decent speed as it happens.
Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Hi guys. Just a quick comment on this topic: AI turn presentation will absolutely be improved.

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Thank you, Rudankort! I can't wait to see this improved.
Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Also second in FroBodine's request.
Good to know that it is on the list.
Sometimes at the beginning of AI turn a lot of sound effects are played without understanding what is happening because nothing is displayed or it is done so fast.

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
It looks like the AI turn would be to fast. But if I watch closely, I see:
in the 1st phase of opponents turn happens:
* map jumping around (player can not follow with his eyes - Alex should not update the map position in this phase)
* I see enemy units in the fog of war (fow)
* I see changing flags (also when my units are on this hex)
in the 2nd phase:
* I see that the units move from the fow into my spotting range
* I see enemies moves and the fights
* orks captures victoty hexes
--> For me (because I see the "pop up" of enemy units in fow and the changed flags on vh) it looks like the battle is done (in phase 1) and I see the fights in "replay" (phase 2).
At my point of view Alex should hide the 1st phase of the enemy turn.

Re: Slow down the AIs turn!
Yep seeing the enemy units in the fog of war needs looking at as well. Short of looking the other way it feels like cheating.
