FPS is too high

I just bought the game on Steam the other night and initially have thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay. However, I noticed my fans running overtime and my computer getting very hot. I checked FRAPS and am running just shy of 500 frames per second. There does not seem to be any control on the video output and it is running wide open. I stopped playing the game as I am concerned about the longevity of my system if run at higher temps for long periods. Please help as I really want to get back to busting some Orks... even if there are no Black Templars.

My system is WIndows 8.1 and I have a GEForce GTX 780 GPU.

only affect nvidia drivers and tbh that is a driver issue not a game one

So short of downloading and tinkering with an unknown 3rd party program I will not be able to play the game? I have no experience with modifying settings through the NVidia control center utility. In the Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, I have set the vertical sync setting to on. I checked my monitor information and it is displaying a refresh of 60. Still though, the game runs uncontrolled. I don't know what else to do at this point unless someone out there knows how to do this.
