Sorry if this isn't the right place to put this, but seeing as I'm running on wine and not normal windows I didn't think it belongs on the tech support forum.
I was looking for other people using wine, wondering if any of them had experienced a problem with advancing turns. Specifically, the 'Yes' button that asks you if you want to advance to the next quarter. The button doesn't work, clicking on it makes it light up and all, but it doesn't acctually advance the turn. I've messed about with screen resolutions, but I can't think of anything else that might be the cause.
Anyone using WINE?

Re: Anyone using WINE?
I am mostly using WHISKEY and often experience major difficulties advancing turns especially in late game. Same thing as you the button is there but even if I click a lot it rarely seems to work.
Re: Anyone using WINE?
Yeah, sounds exactly like the same problem. Except I can never advance turn,so I'm stuck on the first turn. Shame, I was loving this game when I played it on windows.

Re: Anyone using WINE?
As an update I've now also tried it in both virtual desktop and without. Playing without produced some nasty graphical bugs where all the graphics and such seemed misaligned and such, that went away eventually but still the advance turn button seems broken.

Re: Anyone using WINE?
Yes, I'm running the latest version of Wine (1.72.28) on Xubuntu 14.10. I couldn't get the game to run out of the box. It would open to the first screen, but:
The Manual button wouldn't work at all.
The Update button would start the updater; if there was an update available the updater would update itself, then restart itself (all normal so far), but then it stops with this message:
The Play button would begin loading graphics, but would hang at 16 resources loaded. It did this on two separate machines.
However, I downloaded the patch manually (ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/BuzzAldri ... p-v110.zip), installed it, and now the game runs just fine. The uploader still doesn't, but if I can download the patches manually, that'll work for me. Thanks to Ignacio for making it available!

Re: Anyone using WINE?
Thank you.
I'll try this, though I'm not sure it'll work. My problem isn't getting the game to start, it's advancing turns. But every little helps!

Re: Anyone using WINE?
I've tried and tried on my Mac, but I gave up and started using Parallels and Windows 7 instead. That didn't work with 1.0, but it works as per 1.1.
Re: Anyone using WINE?
Sadly I can't get my hands on windows right now
Maybe in a month or two, guess I'll just have towait till then, unless we get a Linux version of the game. (Please please please!)

In the meantime you could always play Race Into Space. That works on both Linux and Mac.
