Steam Mac installation
I've been in touch with a tech support bot at Steam to no avail, so I thought I'd ask here. I made the mistake of buying the Mac version of BA2 through Steam. When I click install, it tells me everything installed and the install button changes to play. Other than folders being created, absolutely nothing was downloaded and installed, so, as you might guess, clicking play pops an error for no executable. My network connection is fine, and I have no problem installing other games from Steam. Any ideas?

Re: Steam Mac installation
Hi guys
we found a glitch which could affect some people and it is fixed. Can you try again now?
Sorry for the problems. It is the first time we've deployed a platform update after the game was already available and you have to do a few extra things we haven't done before!
Cheers

Anyone else still having this problem? Ih ave tried installing multiple times and no files are downloaded. Works OK on windows, but the MAC side doesn't install anything. Any other solutions?
Re: Steam Mac installation
Hello ccunha,
It is possible that your anti-virus/anti-malware software is interfering with the download, so please try disabling this and then see if the download occurs successfully.
Also, if it is saying that the files are downloaded, but they have not, then please can you open Steam and find the game in your library. Then right click on the game and select "Properties". Then click on "Local Files" and select verify integrity of game cache and report back with the response to this request. It will either say that the game is installed correctly or that certain files have failed. If files have failed, please re-download the game

Thanks for getting back to me Joe,
unfortunately even after uninstalling my anti-virus I have the same problem. When checking the integrity of the game cache it reports that the game is installed correctly, even though the folder where this is supposed to have occurred is empty. Any other ideas?

Re: Steam Mac installation
We have tried with our Mac here and we were able to download the game without issue, so it is correctly set up in Steam. Have you enabled Steam in Gatekeeper? Gatekeeper is a fairly new feature which stops non-app store purchases from being able to work correctly on your computer, so please ensure that Steam is allowed as an exception to Gatekeeper. You can see information on how to allow exceptions to Gatekeeper at the link below:

Re: Steam Mac installation
Unfortunately steam is already allowed as an exception to gatekeeper and no luck on the download. Must be some issue specific to my iMac. Oh well, will have to run it on the PC side. Thanks again for trying to fix this issue for me!
