Allied Contingents List ?
Does artillery count as one of the three units? Kind of a hard list to put together if so.
Re: Allied Contingents List ?
Yes - but not sure how that makes it harder as only the Wurttemberg artillery are affected - Spanish Italian and Bavarians have to be in their own divisions anyway with or without their artillery.CutEmUp wrote:Does artillery count as one of the three units? And the minima only apply if any of a national type are used and the two minima for Wurt artillery are 0 so you can have just 8 stands of Wurttemberg infantry and have no artillery and place them in a division with, say, Saxons or Nasseurs or Dutch whose minima are also less than 12 or you can have up to 12 bases of Wurt infantry pus artillery and cavalry and field a reasonable Wurt mixed Division.
Where there is a problem is fielding a non Wurttemberger Division with any artillery unless it is Italian, Spanish or Bavarian. But you can have an attachment of course.
I do agree this is a tricky list to use compared to many not least as we have devised it as a field formation at Corps level from contingents that did not operate as such at this time. But it is potentially a fun list especially if you add in a French Division and ifyou want to add some variety and colour without making whole Corps of some nationalities.
Re: Allied Contingents List ?
I guess, then, that a third division of another nationality is needed......I was trying to make it all southern German, can't really find a place to fit the Baden units....maybe just have the two units of Baden infantry as a reserve division
Re: Allied Contingents List ?
Given your interest I had a go at constructing one with Bavarians, Wurttembergers and Badeners( the latter 4 units) . It's a 1052 points list but that is because it has 4 Divs - two Bavarian (one infantry , one cavalry,) one Wurt mixed and the Baden Div. I used an exceptional general ( who will be French of course as are any Corps COs of tis list.) I have yet to rebase my early Saxons so did not use them. In any cases I want to put this Corps up against my 1806 Prussians with the Saxons as an option for them ( all 25/28mm).CutEmUp wrote:I guess, then, that a third division of another nationality is needed......I was trying to make it all southern German, can't really find a place to fit the Baden units....maybe just have the two units of Baden infantry as a reserve division
Not sure if its an ideal list for a standard game or a comp -not all lists are - and the lack of a strong Cavalry Division as an option is a potential weakness up against an opposition that has that, and the relative lack of large unit options. But as I said it is a construct from disparate covering forces so it is what it is. Some might query the validity of having it as a Corps at all
Re: Allied Contingents List ?
I didn't think you could have two divisions of one type......it says "must be in their own division." Singular
Re: Allied Contingents List ?
That was not my intention. Had it been, I think I would have written that you could not have more than one division of a national type so maybe " division(s)" would have been clearer.CutEmUp wrote:I didn't think you could have two divisions of one type......it says "must be in their own division."
