No. It's not a "base". It's a (very big) marker to show where the general is.

Yes

3) Mounted Spear get a + vs any if no other net POA. What does that mean ?

If, after calculating all POAs, the result is "evens", then the javelin is considered to give the holder a slight edge, and so the mounted spear get a + POA for melee. For example, if you have bow Cv vs spear Cv, the impact factor is evens for both, so the spear Cv will get their + POA. If, however, you have lance Cv vs spear Cv, the lancers get a + POA at impact, so the impact factor is + to teh lancers. Since this isn't an evens result, the spear Cv don't get their +POA

4)Can shock troops that pass a CMT , still elect to charge throuhg LF in front of them ?

No. You can't elect to charge through troops, even if you can interpenetrate them in normal movement.

5) If Cav are in contact with a distrupted or Frag'd BG of foot , can they break away ?

No. Mounted break off from foot isn't an optional move. You either have to break off (because the majority of foot are steady) or you don't (becasue the majority of foot are unsteady).

6) Does a commnader have to actually join a broken unit to rally it ?

Yes.

No. He is only a marker, not an actual body of soldiers.

Yes. The general must go to the front rank to give that bonus; he can chose to do so in the impact phase. Once in the front rank he is stuck there until the combat is over, one way or another.

3) Mounted Spear get a + vs any if no other net POA. What does that mean ?

If all other POAs for the mounted light spear cancel out, then they get a +.

4)Can shock troops that pass a CMT , still elect to charge throuhg LF in front of them ?

No. There is an ongoing thread right now that addresses this.

5) If Cav are in contact with a distrupted or Frag'd BG of foot , can they break away ?

The rule says that they break off in the JAP if more than half their close combat opponents are steady foot. It is not something that the player can choose to have them do; they either break off or not by rule.

6) Does a commnader have to actually join a broken unit to rally it ?

Yes.

Yes

But only for rolls to hit, not for cohesion tests.
