expanding and contracting

Post by bahdahbum »

My question is about expanding or contracting mixed units .

The perfect case is a mixed byzantine unit 1/2 spear, 1/2 bow .

You deploy it either in 2 ranks, first ranh spear, second rank bow . Now when you contract that unit, could you put a 1st and second ranks spear as to have the spear bonus ), and 3rd and 4th rear rank bow . Vice and versa ....

Hi there

When you expand or contract during movement you can move bases around within the BG.

The contracted bases are moved into a rear rank. Which rear rank is up to the player. So you could put them in the second third or fourth, but not the first.

Not strictly true Rob. Some / at least 1 front rank base(s) must remain in the front rank.

But what the OP is trying to achieve is permissible.
