There are 4 music files in the game (Main Folder/Data/Music); I've got issues with two of them: MainMenu.mp3 and Battle.mp3.

"MainMenu" is used ... in the Main Menu :), during loading and with the battle description. "Battle" ... well, during the scenario. So far, so good.

Problem is that when I load a saved scenario the "Main Menu" music is used by the game also during battle - and not Battle.mp3. Is this a bug?

I should notice that I've replaced the original tunes with period music, and "Battle" with ambient sounds ('white noise', bird sounds, wind etc.), adds much to immersion IMO. Didn't experience any problems so far except the issue with save games.

(I noticed that in the 'Sounds' folder are many WW2 sounds from Battle Academy. Have you overlooked them by chance? :mrgreen: )

Yes it is. We are waiting for the engine programmer to address it.

Could you link them for our delectation and delight?

Not overlooked, but we left them in just in case we wanted to use them for anything.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm "glad" that this is a bug and I haven't screwed up something ...

The pastoral ambient sounds I use are in fact a sound mod for Combat Mission:

I might modify this a bit further. ATM I'm working on a sound mod, at least I'm collecting files for that and experiment with sound mixes (marching infantry with drums etc.). Some nice results but far from being finished.

Very nice, though whether the birds would hang around and keep singing through the mayhem of a battle remains to be seen. OTOH they would probably be less out of place on a battlefield than a full orchestra....

Ive just bought P&S and like very much the system of playing. But think like Adebar that a good sound mod is really needed. Ambient sound, infantry marching with drums (when infantry moves, it sounds like the inf squads in BA), and a good sound of a volley muskets. Think that sound´s game base is too poor, but jugability is great.

Fortunately, a good mod can solve it. :wink:
