LORDS OF HISTORY, 4th edition
Battles of Republican Rome: Lake Trasimene, Cynoscephalae, Magnesia, Gergovia, Cannae.
Pool 1 Pool 2 Read horizontally. For example, in pool 2, round 2, MikeMarchant will challenge JocaRamiro (for Cynoscephalae) and Stefano (for Cannae).
Reading vertically, MikeMarchant will be challenged by Ulisisgrunt (for Lake Trasimene), BrindleBane (for Magnesia) and BloodPhoenix (for Gergovia).
Please make all your 3 or 2 challenges at the same time and pick up all your challenges asap. Do NOT play one game after the other. All games must be played simultaneously.
3 weeks per round.
Settings: players who make the challenge are side 1 (the first listed side, i.e. the side that moves first; this is the default so no action is required).
No Fog of War, no Double Moves (which are also the default settings, so no action is required unless you've changed them previously).
Use passwords.
Scoring: players are awarded points as a percent of enemy losses times 10. For example, MikeMarchant 45/53 vs Ulisisgrunt 57/55 would give MikeMarchant 10.4 pts (57/55*10) and Ulisysgrunt 8.5 pts (45/53*10).

Excellent! One of the most iconic and epic battles of the Republican Roman era, and Hannibal's most decisive triumph!fogman wrote:fortunately i've been working on a revamped cannae that i can release this weekend. so cannae will replace forum gallorum. it's fitting to have this iconic battle of republican rome in, and the new version achieves a better historical flow than the ones it replaces. the 'monster' version will be used and it will give a good idea and feel of the gigantic scope of the battle.
I'm excited to see it added!
I have a question for you though...I located all the scenarios you mentioned in the appropriate part of the forum, and downloaded them. But I seem to have done something wrong, as I cannot find them to open them in the game? I assume
they would go in the folder with the other battles? I see them listed in the "games" folder with the other scenarios, but they are not listed when I try to start a new scenario in the game, even under "custom" where the LOB scenarios showed up...
Re: LORDS OF HISTORY, 4th edition
It is the same process as adding games for lords of the balkans. this is what i sent you previously:
"the game should be in 'documents', 'slitherine' then 3 folders, one of which is 'FieldOfGlory Scenarios'. You should download the zip file into that folder. and you have to use the command 'extract here' and that should create a folder called for example 'LOB1305 Byzantines vs Bulgarians' inside which there is 'data' and inside 'data' there are exactly four files: 'game-fixed', 'scenario0', 'scenario1', 'ui'."
then open the game, select 'custom scenarios' from the pull down and you should see the added scenarios.

Re: LORDS OF HISTORY, 4th edition
I'm 'crowdsourcing' ulisisgrunt's 5 games of the first round.
depending on how many are interested, each can play 1 or 2 games, or all 5 if there's only one. easy way to try something new.

Could you go over who makes challenges and which side they pick just to be clear?

Hi,
I am picking up from a bit of an absence.
Fogman notes that we need to download the zip file.
Which one?
