cossack and rear support

Post by bahdahbum »

A cossack is an irregular unit . irregular are considered as skirmishers .
Skirmishers give NO rear support

But I still remember a game with Terry and he allowed the rear support .

So what am I missing ?

been asked and answered here before but rules page 57 top the first bullet point only addresses infantry support, infantry skirmishers don't provide rear support, no mention of skirmishers occurs in second point about about cavalry. SO the mention of skirmishers only occurs with reference of infantry support,

Cossacks and other irregular light cav ( or regular cav in extended line ) can provide rear support.

Irregeglur cavalry are not always considered skirmishers though , only for combat and movement, (though I dont know if that actually makes a difference in any way) .
