Mercury Splashdown Graphic Orientation

Post by BigRIJoe »

I noticed that the position of the Mercury capsule was incorrect in the "splashdown" graphic. Mercury spacecrafts had their flotation collars attached while they were bobbing straight up in the water. At least in the unmanned Mercury sub orbital and the unmanned Mercury orbital missions, the splashdown graphic was a depiction of a Gemini re-entry vehicle, lying on it's side.

Hello BigRIJoe,

Well spotted, thanks for reporting. We'll try to get it fixed before release.
