No start screen after the introduction video

Post by stefsarf »

hello, obviously I´m one of the many people with problems after trying to play Commander the great war bought on Steam. I didn´t find exactly my bug descripted in the posted topics so here it is:
after the introduction video there´s a screen with no more than the name of the game on a picture with german soldiers (and a music) and that´s it.
As recommended I checked Microsoft C++2012, OpenGL 1.3... no change.
dxdiag joined.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with game. :(
Firstly there aren't so many people with game issues. However I agree that only a few are already too many. :)

Could you please copy and paste the contents of the DxDiag report file to your post?

Hey, sorry for your problems, please try this:

1) after clicking Play in steam, game launcher pops up
2) instead of clicking "Play Commander the great war" there click "Change configuration"
3) select for example 1366x768 and uncheck Fullscreen
4) hit Play button there

Game should now run in windowed-mode and you should be able it in full. Please let us know if it worked.

You just renamed the .text file to .zip or .rar, this is not how it works:

Side note how to zip or rar a file:

Go here:

Also try on the CTGW laucher go to change configuration, select a lower resolution than your native one, so lower than 1920 x 1080 you run now, deselect full screen, so you start up windowed. Than see if it starts please.

And as a last trial if all fails,

Try the Beta graphic card drivers :

- I don´t know how to change settings from 120dpi to 96dpi.
- I changed the resolution and deselected full screen in the game ( still no start screen after video)
- I can´t change my intel driver to the beta. It says my computer manufacturer doesn´t allow it; I tried to change it manually but didn´t understand which steps I had to follow ( not easy with the explanation in English and the computer in french).

So what happens after you do that? In the original report you wrote that you see " name of the game on a picture with german soldiers". What do you see after changing resolution and running in window?

It is a driver issue for sure I see you already have the latest from NVIDIA, just in case i post here the link, but I see you have it:

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverRe ... 7228/en-us

Are you able to install these drivers for Intel?

Or check what at least Asus allows you to install as latest ones.
