When the scenario has ended (and I hopefully receive my well-deserved laurel wreath) my core will be refitted for the next scenario: replacements to full strength (elite if I can afford) and oftenly over strength units (also depending on my cash account). The more the unit suffered in the last scenario, the more the costs will be.
So far so good.
But the same unit will take place in the front line for the following scenario, over and over again, whatever the fights and losses will have inflicted to the unit in the near past. The only effect will be an increase of experience which is positive. While this is one of the reasons the long-term motivation of pc stays as high as it is, it is also...not realistic. Even the best trained and motivated units would suffer from exhaustion (or burn-out as we call it nowadays) if it is thrown into battle again and again without any time of rest. So I wonder if the game mechanics would allow some kind of long-term exhaustion to be simulated if a unit has to fight on and on. It is just a thought, as I don't have a detailed solution yet (perhaps some kind of slowly increasing suppression?! or a reduction of initiative?). But I would be interested about other players opinion - and perhaps about clever solutions to picture this effect of exhaustion.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Long Term Unit exhaustion
In the vanilla campaign, it was months between scenarios, and in AK they get fortnightly gaps (at least at the start). In GC 39 and 40, there is only 1.5 months of fighting, and in '41 there is only 4. I don't see why you would really need it.

Re: Long Term Unit exhaustion
If you keep replacing your same units during and between scenarios, those replacements are already fresh, either inexperienced (green) or experienced (elite), so why does the unit additionally need to suffer from exhaustion?
If you feel that elite replacements are too cheap then double the cost in gamerules.pzdat: ScnEReplaceCost: 100 -> 200 and CamEReplaceCost: 50 -> 100. This way, you will quickly run out of prestige until you can only afford green replacements. The constant loss of experience then of a once highly experienced unit that is frequently in action can already nicely simulate the battle weariness in my opinion.

Hmm...maybe I tend to look for much-to-complex solutions - some kind of industrial desease I presume.
Even the best unit will suffer from combat burnout if it stands in the line of Fire again and again. But this does not mean the consequences im am thinking about are necessary. At least I would like to know if the Game mechanics would allow some kind of enforced Unit rotation

Re: Long Term Unit exhaustion
Well, Andor, I think that unit rotation will be enforced on the player when he would not be able to reinforce a unit after suffering losses, due to lack of prestige points... In that way, that player will be "forced" to leave the unit out of the line of fire (in the reserve units list) at least till having earned the necessary prestige to bring it back to full force. Still, he could deploy that weakened unit if he cosiders necessary to do so, but he will risk losing it. It happened to me...
Good units left many battles in reserve because I could not reinforce them to a "safe" level...

Re: Long Term Unit exhaustion
I will give it a try and Inflate the costs for elite replacements until I have to rest some units instead of using them. Lets see what will happen
