Inquiery DLC 41 players
I would like to know from the DLC 41 players with how much prestige they began this DLC and how many core units there were while importing the saved DLC 40 core and prestige. Thanks for the info.

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
The three most recent saved cores available for import to DLC41
All played at General and version 1.21 with Reform units. I know that I was playing with Dice Chess for 1) in the list, and probably full random for 2 and 3.
1) 46 units, 16646 prestige Playing tank free (not using any tanks except in the scenario you get them, which means lots of units due to the big stock of 2* AT guns being prepared for later on)
2) 38 Units 21424 prestige
3) 43 units 21685 prestige

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
Absolutely first try, difficulty General, missed some captured units: Core 34, prestige 8705
Second try, already with 1943 in forecast, still General, all captured units acheived: Core 37, prestige 20255
Both on ipad, patch 1.22/1.23
Regards,
Thorsten

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
I did this a long time ago, around when v1.11 was used, so I have a slightly clouded memory.
It was something like 37k prestige, and ~50 core units. Most units were 3*, but during DLC '41, I wasn't getting any new exp for the most part, and stopped using elite reinforcements.
(Played GC 39 and 40 on Sergeant, as I was still very new to the game - went straight from tutorial to GC 39. '41 was played on Lieutenant)

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
My last three saves:
32 units,19850 prestige, difficulty: Field Marshal with random chess, reform units
31 units, 6287 prestige, difficulty: Rommel with random chess, reform units
35 units, 22530 prestige, difficulty: General with random chess, reform units; all 1.20 rules
Just for curiosity, Tarrak: Any special reason, why you need this info? Any prizes to win?

I am playing DLC 1941 now and just reached Vyazma. Playing on FM with reform units.

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
In my recent game of "only one of each unit type" on Field Marshal, I had collected 23349 prestige and 37+4 units. As I found out, buying obsolete units is cheap.

Or is there any reason at all?

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
I just had a discussion with a friend about the game and the amount of prestige we had at different steps of the GC and it was hugely different between us both. I wanted to get a broader picture how it is across the community as a data sample of two doesn't really provide informative basis.
Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
Then on the higher difficulty levels for the more experienced players there is a pretty clear pattern: +/- 35 units and > 20,000 prestige. Including "Rommel" if accounted for the -50% prestige.
One of the difficulties with prestige is the dlc specific experience cap, which was non existent in PG and leads especially old PG players to spend too much on elite replacements for their first scenarios. The second one is Soft Cap, which is impossible to note early and the third one are the possibilities to play the engine, like air and tanks always move first, which you have to learn (as deducter did, who was not a specifically outstanding player but just someone very good at using the engines behaviour pattern).

Thorsten

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
20K on FM, with 31 units. This was my second time round. First time I reached the beginning of 41 with about 5 K at which point I realised this was not enough. I'm now half way through 43, and I think I could do better if I tried a third time, maybe 25k max. Not sure how others managed more than that.

Re: Inquiery DLC 41 players
I deactivated the prestige cap using instructions ThvN posted in a recent thread on the prestige cap, and started the DLCs again.
When I was importing a core into DLC 42 just now,
No prestige cap = 53 units (4 SE) and 46,253 prestige.
Prestige cap active = 56 units (4 SE) and 32,896 prestige.
I was surprised at the difference. For some time I have minimised use of transport - Infantry get trucks only if they move less than 3 - typically a move hero infantry becomes a grenadier and walks for the rest of the game. I even discard special units transport where applicable. Most front line ground units get only 1 overstrength unless they have +3 defence or better though fighters and SE usually get 12 and artillery and bombers sometimes get the max 13. Half of my artillery is still 10.5cm (for the extra ammo and better ROF), so I'm hardly throwing great excesses of max power overstrength units around.
I don't think I was playing much better with prestige cap off - judging by the number of units at 3 or less strength hiding in the rear in about half the scenarios I could argue I was playing worse, yet there's more than 12,000 prestige different.
