Scouting?

Post by Muddy »

What does scouting actually do? I have selected it often for my troops, but can't see any difference in the behavior of my troops.
I know scouts see hidden units from 2 tiles away, but no idea what the scout command does.

Hi Mud,

Well, what it does is extend the visual range of the unit using it, "scout the area" is sort of what the command is.
If hidden units are within a couple hexes, like say a house, I believe you will see them appear. Plus it extends the range like I mention as well.
Unfortunately, after doing so, your unit that "scouted" will not be able to move or fire... so its best done with friendlies nearby, to take advantage of targets if any appear.

Thanks jcb, there was no info on it in the manual, so well appreciated. :)
