Malay list

I'm looking at trying out a speculative FoG list for Malay.

I was thinking something like:

Elephants
Swordsmen: Heavy foot, Avg, Undrilled, Unprotected, Impact foot, swordsmen
Archers option for either (a) medium foot, poor, undrilled, unprotected, bow
or (b) light foot, average, undrilled, unprotected, bow
Javelinmen: light foot, average, undrilled, unprotected, javelins
Noble cavalry: light horse, average, undrilled, unprotected, javelin (or lancer?)

Tambringala Malay can have Sinhalese allies.
Malacca Malay can have Ming allies (can include foot but no guard cavalry)

Questions:
1. do the swordsmen look right? I know there is some evidence for large shield, but should all Malay be protected? If unprotected they would be very brittle so perhaps superior to retain their toughness? Also assuming heavy foot based on WbS classification in DBM.
2. the DBM list has provision for blowpipes- could these be classed as firearm under FoG?
3. the archers are Irr BwI in DBM- making them undrilled and unprotected makes them very vulnerable, so do they need to be poor as well?[/list]
