Is it the "Early Ostrogothic, Herul, Sciri or Taifali" list in Legions Tri ?

May be, but it is write p 14 of Decline and fall :"from 467 to 621 : Ostrogothic ally - Italian ostrogothic" and there is no ally list p18 (Decline and fall) for Italian ostrogothic... that seems to be the good list, because later than the "early"...

Anyway, the list of Ostrogoths early ally should not be very different than later ... and even more than the Visigoths themselves!

But for a tournament, which list could we accept?

Thanks for help

It appears to have been missed and does not appear in the errata.

Most allied lists feature 1/3 to 1/4 of the core troops from the main list.

So I would suggest :

Cavalry 4-12
Spearmen 0-8
Supporting archers 0-4
Separately deployed archers 6-12

But clearly you need to agree this with the competition organisers.

Hello Pete,

Thanks for help

It seems to be a clever solution to this not findable list!

No, it'll be the Italian Ostrogothic from Decline and Fall. But I imagine it's not got an ally list from the comment.

Just based on Pete's numbers, here is a quick "Unofficial" table for the Italian Ostrogothic allies:

Maybe it will be useful.

Hi Chris - nice job on the list.

My only concern is that you have suggested that the LF can be deployed in BGs of 4-8. That can lead to 'cheese' and allow 3 x 4 BGs of LF - not a lot of good but useful for upping the break point of the army. I would prefer the BG size to be 6-8 as per the main list. But that's only my opinion and there are precedents for allied BGs of 4 LF.

I thought about that. The table has now been revised.
