1513: France, threatened by English and Spanish invasions on her northern and southern borders, nonetheless sent an army, with a core of German landsknechte, across the Alps to reconquer the duchy of Milan lost a year earlier. The Swiss garrison was cornered at Novara but held on until a relief army arrived. On the 6th of June the French lifted the siege but did not get far: the battle of Novara was underway.

Designer's notes:

There was nothing subtle about Swiss tactics. It was a head-on assault regardless of the strength of the enemy position. Accessory units are used to create a field of fire for artillery and arquebuses as in the Mohacs scenario. Once the Swiss stormed the French artillery and arquebuses line and repelled the gendarmes, they would encounter their arch nemesis the landsknechte in the quintessential duel of the Renaissance.
