Multiplayer Move Mix Up

Post by alfamail »

I am playing a few multiplayer games at the moment. I am fairly sure that two of the games have somehow got mixed up together. There were two games waiting for my moves. I entered my moves in one of them and sent them to the server. I then tried to make my moves in the second game and I am 99.9% certain that the second game was in fact the first game.

However, I am 100% certain that in that second game (as the German player) i got six or seven Russian units (whihc I could move) as reinforcements.

"Fog of war" and Chaos Theory are operative! Good luck to us all.

I was playing a MP game with Toten which just crashed - the game is showing up in white coloured print in completed games. Can up with "Ojective completed" just after the set up phase. Can it be resurrected?

Re: Germans getting Soviet reinforcements: my opponent tells me that he (the Soviets) has got German reinforcements.

We are playing a scenario where the player chooses units at the start (a feature I like). However, in this particular case there are no transports available for selection even though there are units that require transport. So I have a mortar unit which cannot take any part in the action for many, many turns to come moving as it does at one square at a time.

The issue of sides sometimes getting reinforcements from the opposite army is a known bug and which will be fixed. In the current version, I believe it can be avoided by leaving the First Player Side as Allies.

Work is being done to improve the availability of transports in force selection skirmishes.

Regarding your initial report about mixed up games, am I understanding correctly that you had two turns in a row in one of your games?

Could you provide more details on what was going on when the game crashed? Thanks.

We had selected our forces, but had not deployed them. The screen to deploy them appeared, but before this could be done "Objective completed" appeared and the game moved to the complete box. Not much more I can add.

Had the force selection process appeared to work properly for both players with no error messages?

Sorry, I am really not sure. At the time I thought that I had clicked on another game and the first game was returned in error. Anyway, you may be correct that effectively I had two turns. Actually both things could be true. That is: the wrong game was returned and I had two turns in succession.

Hi Andrew? Any further news on the game that crashed? Or do we just forget it as one of those things that happens in EAP's?

I don't have anything to add at this time, but it is certainly not forgotten. We definitely want to hear about these kinds of issues. Have you had any issues playing a rematch?

In this case, I expect the problem was triggered by the very large points budgets so you should be able to avoid it by keeping your games under 3000 points. The next version will handle this correctly.
