Basing for Visigoths/Franks and other Later Germans

I like 5th century armies, including the Late Romans and German tribes, and have just ordered some Old Glory 15mm Franks to use in a Western German force. I know that I will have to wait until at least the spring for the appropriate supplement to come out for this army, but if I'm going to get a head start on painting this force, I was wondering what the infantry basing was for these guys. For Franks, Visigoths, and the other 5th Century hairy barbarian types, is the standard infantry going to be medium or heavy foot?
