I had a case of a false notice at the season end screen. the notice said that a component reached max reliability and that engineers are reassigned.
However none of the components I was working on reached max reliability (in fact all are under 80%) and all engineers are assigned as they wer ethe turn before.
[BUG]- False notice about component reaching max reliability
Re: [BUG]- False notice about component reaching max reliabi
Hello Sabratha,
Do you have a savefile for this so that I can troubleshoot it?

There's no "LocalLow" folder in my "Application Data" folder. I have "Show hidden folders" on, so this isn't the case.Nacho84 wrote:For Windows XP, the path is c:\Documents and Settings\Users\Your User Name\AppData\LocalLow\MatrixGames\BASPM. Notice that AppData is a hidden folder, so it might be possible that you won't be able to see it inside the Windows Explorer. If that's the case, please follow the instructions from this link.
I ran a windows file search of "Documents and Settings" for "BASPM" and no folders named "BASPM" were found.
I'm running windows XP. Oh and I'm using the slitherine download game version.
I have windows XP and I do not have the save files in the folder that was mentioned. I do have the save files, although I was unable to locate them. Is there any way to chekc what directory is being used?

There is, yes. It's a little bit involved at the moment, but bear with me. I'll see if I can do something to make it more straightforward for next patch.Sabratha wrote:I do have the save files, although I was unable to locate them. Is there any way to chekc what directory is being used?
Fire up the game and go to the "Load Game" screen from the main menu. Then close the window. Go to the installation directory and open up the output_log.txt file located under the SPM-Windows_Data subfolder. Look for the text "Looking for". That should tell you the path where the game is reading the save files.

Sure, found the directory Turned out its: "C:\Documents and Settings\*MYUSERNAME*\Local Settings\Application Data\MatrixGames\BASPM
As for the bug, I looked at it in more detail and I'm getting a 100% repro with the savefile.
Steps to reproduce this bug:
1) Load the save file.
2) Take note of the scientists and their R&D assignments. For example Allie Markovich who is assigned to the developpment of the Pioneer IV space probe.
3) Press end turn.
4) You can proceed with the space plane scheduled mission, or scrub it - neither affect the bug.
5) In the post-turn interseason briefing screen, take note of the notice saying that scientists are now available again after a component reached max reliability. Allie Markovich will be one of the scientists mentioned in said notice (See screenshot attached to this post)
6) Start the turn. Go to the headquarters and look at the Pioneer IV program. Notice that Allie Markovich is still assigned to developing the Pioneer IV satellite probe, which should now have a reliability of just about 11%.
Other info:
On earlier turns, Allie Markovich was assigned to the Sputnik program. I launched a sucessfull sputnik mission (regular, not extended) and then closed the program (without manually re-assigning the scientists). Then sent said scientists to other duties.
My first thought was that for some reason the game still *thinks* that allie Markovich is assigned to the sputnik program, even though the program closed.
However this is NOT the case, as after re-opening the sputnik program I found out that in fact none of the sputnik components reached max R&D reliability, so that was not what triggered the false notice in the interseason briefing.
Thus I'm sorry to say that I have so far been unable to find out what is causing the false notice in the briefing.

I can confirm this. When you shutdown a program with SET people still assigned to it, it will show the max RD level reached message at the end of that season.

Hello Sabratha,
Do you happen to have the savefile from the season before the one you posted?

No worries! I think I've fixed it, but I couldn't test it with the savefile you posted since, by that season, the code that would put the game into an invalid state had already executed. But anyway, feel free to post again if you encounter the bug in the latest patch.Sabratha wrote:Sorry, I think it got overwritten when I was texting the new patch.Nacho84 wrote:Hello Sabratha,
