Switch in iPad Panzeer Corps
I've been playing the tutorial of the iPad version of Panzer Corps and enjoying it. However, I simply don't understand how I should use the Switch button. For example when I have SdKfz units they seem to be able to attack air targets only. Pressing the Switch button doesn't seem to do anything. Can you switch modes only in certain circumstances? What am I missing here? I tried searching the forum but couldn't find an answer, could somebody please help me out? Thank you in advance!

First, I would like to welcome you to the Slitherine Forums. Everyone here is quite friendly, so feel free to post any issues/ideas that you may have.
The switch button only gets used by certain units. The ones I know can do it are:
88 Gun
Russian 122mm Guns
Russian 152mm Guns
Some AA
V1s and V2s
STUH 42
What it does is changes how a unit is used. For example, when you buy an 88 Gun, It starts off as an 8.8 FlaK gun (Anti-Aircraft). If you press switch, It changes to an 8.8 PaK, or Anti-Tank. This allows players to use their units in ways that are determined by the battle situation. V1s and 2s use the switch button to be launched into missile form.

So, the captured V2 actually has a use? Could you (or anyone!) describe how you used it? I deployed it in the Allied Berlin game, and it didn't seem to do anything. What would the switch have done? According to its stats, it has no attack value. I was hoping to use it against the huge tractor mounted artillery piece.BiteNibbleChomp wrote:First, I would like to welcome you to the Slitherine Forums. Re: Switch in iPad Panzeer Corps
I haven't got that far in the GC or Allied Corps, but I do know this:
When you get a V2, it starts of as an "Anti Tank" that (I imagine) has similar strength to an Opel Truck. When you press switch it becomes a missile (Tac Bomber Class). You have to move it towards the enemy, so that it is next to their unit. Then you attack the way you would with a tank or similar. It will do incredible damage, but will then die itself (thoguh it won't show -10 over your missile), as a missile is a suicide unit. 2 or 3 attacks on the same unit usually is enough to kill even the best troops. Not sure if it can attack planes, but it may well be able to.

Re: Switch in iPad Panzeer Corps
Thank you for your reply! The reason I thought that the SdKfz is switchable is because it has a damage number for land targets in brackets [x]. What does this number mean then?
Re: Switch in iPad Panzeer Corps
A number in [brackets] means the unit can defend itself against an attack, but not make an attack. So effectively it is a defensive value and will damage anything that attacks it.
