About video

Post by neoxul »

Hello
I was wondering if there was any plan to introduce some real videos instead of the animation during mission.
I did play BARIS a lot and I would really like to see the videos that were in the game (with better quality of course).
But actually I don't know if it would be possible due to copyright.
Do you have any ideas about this ?
By the way is there a post with all functionality that should be in the complete game ? (it would be useful for people to look if the thing they to ask is going to be available)
Is there any date for the complete game availibility ?

Thanks for answering !!!

As far as I know, NASA videos are in the public domain, so they can be used. I don't think we'll include them, though, as we prefer to keep the graphic style consistent across the whole game. I'm flirting with the idea of adding support for including your own video files and defining your own mission scripts for the desktop versions of the game, but I cannot promise anything at this point.

Yes, see this link. Notice that we're in the process of rewriting the roadmap. We'll be making some announcements in a few weeks.

We estimate we still have a few months of development, but in part it will be driven by what the community asks, so it might be possible that it will get extended in order to accommodate unplanned features.

It could be some kind of options (perhaps a DLC ^^;). Would be interesting to see these videos in a campaign mode (if it is the same as it was in BARIS)
But I understand your point of view.

For me generally correspond the animation of the missions. They reflect the atmosphere of the conquest of space. They can easily compete with real video of NASA's missions. The only thing they lack is a disaster animation of the failure mission.

However, it can be use other elements of NASA such as missions emblems. I also wonder, whether the developers tried to contact with scientists from NASA, that they gave advice regarded performing space missions?
