first impressions after five minutes

The game is so clearly cut from the Alpha Centauri/Civ mold that one can actually play a few turns and fiddle with the GUI in five minutes - enough for me to see that it's a winner.

My only negative impression from those few brief moments was that it is too dark. I suggest some alternative to the dark, brooding background. It's a downer. Lighten things up - the storyline is about new beginnings, dawning, rising - let the color scheme reflect that upbeat theme.
