A few questions for developers

Post by krgu48 »

Hello everyone. I have some questions about the final version of the game:

1) How many will be the missions in the final game?
2) Do you plan to add more missions on the exploration of the planets and the sun?
3) Whether the future patches will be cumulative?

Again, another of your posts I neglected to answer. Apologies again.

1) For part 1, there will be all the missions you see on the 0.7.5 patch, plus the Saturn probes plus a wide range of lunar missions.
2) Yes, parts 2 and 3 extend the number of available missions considerably by adding more modern probes (e.g., New Horizons, Pathfinder, Spirit and Opportunity, Curiosity, etc).
3) Sorry, I didn't understand this question. What do you mean by cumulative in this context?

Cheers,

No need to apologize  and thanks for the reply :) Cumulative patch?! - was to be comprehensive patch (shame for my english  ) - patch which introduces all the fixes on version 0.7.0 and can be installed on any version of the game. (Otherwise, if the game is 0.7.0 version and I install the patch 0.7.4 - will it contain fixes from version 0.7.3?)

WOW - Are you going to put soviet mission too? (aka. Vostok, Voskhod) (version 0.7.4 + hotfix - I counted 55 missions;)

Oh, I see what you mean. Yes, all patches contain the changes from previous versions. Let's say you installed the game, then installed the 0.7.5 patch and then left the game for a few weeks (shame on you! :P ), come back and the latest patch is 0.7.8. You won't need to download 0.7.6 and 0.7.7, since 0.7.8 will already contain those changes.

Not sure about the soviet missions, can't promise anything for the moment!

Why have Sputnik and the and soviet Lunar probes but not Vostok, sounds like a wierd design choice to me.

Indeed, either add all the Soviet missions (eventually, maybe as a mini dlc pack?) or take out Sputnik and the Soviet Lunar probes. It's not exactly fair being teased between a choice of the Soviet/everyone else mission choices for certain unmanned and then not being able to attempt the Soviet manned (and planned manned missions) :P

^ this

I understand that it would be massively more effort to put in Vostok art and mechanics with Mercury, but it looks like based on the probes and Sputnik you begin with the premise of both Soviet and US Missions... then you only deliver on the US. Just feels wierd.

Also for an added mission that you've probably got well planned; the 1975 orbital docking of a Soyuz and Apollo capsule. I think it epitomises Buzz's ideology and the ethos of the 'international' aspect of the game.
Please forgive me if you have already planned this, I'm sure you have :P I just thought i'd underline it for a very relevant to the theme of the game, and a mission

Thanks again for your reply ;) comprehensive paches are more comfortable

It would be cool if these missions were in the final version of part one - fingers crossed :)
